THIS IN ALL INCLUSIVE PRIVATE TOUR
This is an all-inclusive tour with lunch included at a local restaurant in Jemma El Fna, the main square inside the Medina.
8:30 a.m pick up from the reception of your central Marrakech hotel or Riad
Around 4:00 p.m. the Tour will finish at Jemma El Fna (the main square in the medina).
You will be taken by a private vehicle (minibus or car) to
Jardin Marjarelle . This is one of the most popular and visited sites in Marrakech. You can learn about the history of the garden designed by Jacques Majorelle, whilst strolling along the paths with exotic plants to each side as well as small pools with water lilies and lotuses. It was bought by Yves St Laurent in 1980 and is an oasis of calm and tranquillity in bustling Marrakech. You will spend around 1 hour in the gardens. There is also a coffee shop and Berber Museum inside the gardens.
Then you will be taken drive past the Menara. This is a well-known and popular site used by the local people in Marrakech. From there your transport will take you inside the Medina.
You will then begin the rest of your tour on foot. The first stop will be the
Saadian Tombs , which were built during the reign of Sultan Ahmed El Mansour in 1557. You will then take a short walk through the alleyways and narrow streets to the
Palais de Bahia . This is a masterpiece of Moroccan architecture and is certainly one of the major monuments in both Marrakech and Morocco. This palace was built in the mid-19th Century and you will enjoy the fantastic courtyards and mosaic walls inside this walled palace.
After visiting,
Palais de Bahia you will continue to walk through the
Medina , including strolling through the Jewish quarter where you will be able to see the Jewish influence in the architecture.
After a 15 min stroll through the narrow streets with its various shops and stores you will arrive in Jemma El Fna in time for lunch at around 1:00/1:15 p.m. You will then enjoy lunch in a local restaurant with a view of the square.
After lunch, around 2:30 p.m., your guide will take you to a pharmacy. This is optional. However, no visit to Marrakech is complete without a visit to a Pharmacy to enjoy a presentation on the potions and lotions that are available. You can learn about the uses of natural herbs, spices and extracts, including the famous Argan Oil, which is only found in Morocco. This is a bit of fun as you’ll have a smile or two as you listen to the pharmacist enthusiastically explain the herbs, spices and lotions.
Please note it is not compulsory to buy anything.
Your guide will then take you back to the main square, Jemma El Fna, where your tour will end. You can make your own way back to your hotel – but maybe you might do a little shopping in the numerous souks around the square or drink some freshly pressed orange juice while watching the snake charmers and water sellers.
