Leave Marrakech at 8.00 returning back at around 18.30. Ouzoud is 160 km from Marrakech and the drive takes around 2½to 3 hours each way.

The Ouzoud Waterfalls are located between the Middle and High Atlas Mountains. The flow of water and the formation of limestone have created a splendid waterfall which is around 100 metres high. The pool beneath the waterfalls is around 8 metres deep and it is possible to swim there especially in the summer.  

On the journey to the waterfalls, you will be able to see various types of terrain and scenery; mountains, desert, valleys and oasis inhabited by traditional Berber tribes.  

This is a relaxing and pleasant day and you can spend time both at the top of the waterfall to enjoy the view of the valley. Then at the foot of the waterfalls as the water crashes down and you can feel the exhilarating spray from the waterfall. This area has beautiful countryside and is considered one of the most beautiful in North Africa.  

Please note that there are around 300 wide steps down to the waterfall and you will have to climb the stairs back to your vehicle. Therefore, this is trip is not suitable for those with limited mobility. 

You have around four hours free time so you can have lunch in one of the many restaurants on the walk to the foot of the waterfalls. There is also the opportunity to have a walk (reasonable distance) to visit the caves, returning in a loop back to the village. If you decide to take this walk it is advisable to wear comfortable walking shoes.
